SPAD RECEIVER

A SPAD ARRAY FOR OPTICAL COMMUNICATIOS

Below is a demonstration of the SPAD based receiver for optical communications. Realtime audio (BBC Radio 2) is transmitted via an optical link from the ceiling to the desk, and then played on the loudspeakers. An FPGA simultaneously calculates the bit error rate (BER). The contents of this video were filmed in June of 2013 at School of Engineering, University of Oxford, UK. Please see below* for detail information regarding the SPAD array.
